Killed by an Angel
by Nate Carter

After figuring out what I could on the album, I saw them live and studied
what they played. Here's Killed By Angel. Not as hard as you thought.

Opening riff/Chorus
Dan's part/Jeremy's part

E---0--0---0--0-2-3-------------0-----0-----------------
A---2--2---10--------0-0-2---2--10----12----------------
D---2--2---X--------------0-----X-----X-----------------
G----------12-------------------12----14----------------
b-------------------------------------------------------
e-------------------------------------------------------

Jeremy's part is simply octave chords from G Gb G A
On A string 10 11 10 12

Jeremy's Verse Part

E---------------------------------------------
A--14--14--14--14--9--10--10--10--9--7--------
D--X---X-------X---X--X---X---X---X--X--------
G--16--16--16--16--11-12--12--12--11-9--------

He plays the octave chords in harmony with his vocals.

As far as the break is concerned it's pretty simple and it looks like the
other tabs have it.

E----------------------------------------7---5--
A--2--2-X---7-7--7--7-X--10--9---7--5----X---X--
D--4--4-X---9-9--9--9-X--X---X---X--X----9---7--
G--4--4-X---9-9--9--9-X--12--11--9--7-----------

Possible correction
by Adam Jenkins

on the INTRO to KBA, i noticed that the first real chord is wrong. it should be an E-7. it's tabbed as an E-7 with a major third. the octave is what gives it the chorus-type sound .. not a minor second interval.
i believe it should appear as such ....

note to guitarists:
since ya probably don’t have another guitarist with you to sit there
and play the second part...i combined the two guitar riffs on all the
parts as well as i could...email me with any corrections or just if
you think you tabbed it better than me send it to me and i will
ponder my mistakes...i don’t liked to be upstaged so i’ll see to
it that my mistakes are few and far between...

intro/chorus riff 1 (heavy overdrive with lots of lows and mids, probably
Dan’s Matchless...
with reverb and possibly a light chorus)
Em7- - Em7- D- - - -
e---------3-----------------------------3----5------------/
b---------3-----------------------------3----3------------/
g---------0-----------------------------0----0------------/
d---------2---------------------------- 2----4------------/
a---------2-----------0-0-2-5-2-2--2---- 5-----------/
e--0-0--0---0-2-3------------------ 0----x------------/ play through 4 times

verse riff (clean, probably Jeremy’s Vox combined with Dan’s Marshall
overdriven slightly...
might be some slight delay on it, but reverb for sure)
B5 C2 A5 A5
e---------------------------------------0-----------/
b-------0--------3---------0------------0---------/
g--4-4--------0---------2---------2---------------/
d--4--------2---------2------2--2----------------/
a--2--------3---------0------0-------------------/
e---------------------------------------------------/ play through 8 times on
first verse, 4 times on 2nd,
welcome to the lonesome world of abel... and 4 times on 3rd verse...

bridge (same tones as on the chorus...sounds like Dan switches to the
Marshall overdrive
for a more mid range tone while doing the octaves)
note: this is where i did alot of combining of parts...i play the first half
with jeremy’s part, then i go up to Dan’s octaves, and then back down
into the chord progression.

B5- - E- - B5 A5
e---0--------------------------------------------------------------/
b---0--------------------------------------------------0----------/
g---4------9-----12- 11---9---7-------4-------4--------------/
d---4------x------x----x---x---x------4------2---------------/
a---2------7-----10-- 9-- 7---5----2------0-------------------/
e---x------0-------------------------------------------------------/
the way the sea reflects the sun, long gone....
and all the miracles of love, long gone...
you hold your heart out in your hand...

e-------------------------------------------/

g------4-----4------4------4-------------/
d----4-----2------4------4---------------/
a--2-----0-------------------------0------/
e----------------3------2-------3-----(0)-/
one last long sigh
one last long sigh...gone last note in parentheses is played the
second time through...

that’s pretty much it...here’s the arrangment:

intro (chorus)
verse 1
chorus
verse 2
chorus
bridge
verse 3
double chorus (out)
