i saw sunny day this summer as well, and would say that last nights show was much better, energy and song selection wise.
my friends and i got there as the doors opened up, and were able to stake out the places directly in front of jeremy at the stage.
euphone was actually really good. the mp3s i had downloaded had been fairly unimpressive, but they were definetly a cool live act. the touring bass player and guitar player for sunny day contribuited to the show. i've heard that the band is actually just the drummer in the studio, and it totally shows on stage. the songs were really tight jazz/rock stuff that revolved around the drummer's grooves. i was pretty impressed, and it seemed like most of the crowd dug it.
seven was a great way to start of the set and sounds great live. the next couple of songs sounded even better then the summer and 100 million was a cool addition. the three diary songs at the end ot the set were amazing, i knew i was really surprised that they played them all in a row. everyone was screaming along with jeremy's part of the chorus to 'song about an angel' and 'in circles'. jeremy broke a sting on 'circles'. it looked really dangerous, because he was really into it, whipping his guitar about and it looked like he was going to get whip the broken string in his eye a couple of times.
before the encore, everyone was yelling out for lp2 songs, as none had been played yet. the touring guitarist came back out wearing a goblin mask (for halloween) which was a nice touch. the rising tide has a really cool noise/jam ending that ended the evening perfectly. because i was so close to the stage, i was able to grab jeremy's setlist which is really cool, even tho it is a computer print out since it has notes about which guitars to use for which songs on it.
the crowd for the show was pretty good. everyone up front seemed to already have a good idea of what was going to be played and didn't yell anything out, excpet for some jackass behind me with a 'i am jeremy enigk's bitch' sign that continually yelled for 8. even after people explained that the set wasn't going to change, especially not for 'jeremy's bitch,' but he never quite got the idea. i think the guy next to me was bringing his girlfriend to her first SDRE show, so that was really cool to see.
all in all, it was an excellent show. i consider myself very lucky to have seen SDRE on both legs, and wish all my friends from home could have seen this one instead of the other.

I really don't know where to begin. When Sunny Day opened with Seven, I was
ready to cry. There was such a mix of different songs from all four albums.
The crowd was awesome and Jeremy was very responsive to them. By far this
is the best show I have ever seen. It took time to get used to a different
bass player and another guitar/piano player, but it was very needed to get
the full sound especially in The Rising Tide. I don't know what it was
about this show, but SDRE was tighter than ever. I was completely floored.
One really neat part of the show was when the new guitar/piano player put on
his Halloween mask. Very entertaining!!!!! Dan was full of smiles as
always and I could here him sing clear as day. In the past shows I have
been to it was kind of hard to hear him. William was very impressive as
well. Once again his drumming was tighter than ever. Jeremy was having a
ball as well. It was quite a magical evening. I wish the best to SDRE and
hope they accomplish all of their endeavors.
