Once again, sitting through No Knife seemed like an absolute enternity. They
were bland and when I scanned the audience, all I saw was a sea of glazed
over, disinterested faces. But, as we all know, this was not a No Knife
show... so I'll get to the important stuff.

The set they played was, I believe, identical to the previous shows (the
notable exception being the Philly show where they placed "Faces in
Disguise"). Of the shows that I have seen, this one was probably the most
energized. The audience was at their FANatical peak. Although there were a
couple things that bothered me a little bit. Number one: some audience member
kept yelling out stuff like "I hate Dave Grohl" and "Foo Fighters suck."
Really. The band doesn't need to hear this. They have their "beef" with Foo
Fighters, but we don't need to egg on their feelings. I'm sure the whole Foo
Fighters fiasco was a painful thing for them, and we should just leave it
behind. Next, during "In Circles" some people started to mosh. That is not
needed. I'm all about people being physical and getting into the music. But
that does not encompass pushing and shoving. Save that for the Korn and Limp
Bizkit shows. Oh.. and the other thing was probably just me. Dan mentioned
that he was looking forward to the New York show the whole tour and that the
New York show is always his favorite. Being a DC native, I was a bit
offended. But, after seeing the crowd reaction, I could see why New York is
his favorite. During "In Circles" a girl made her was onto the stage and
started singing Dan's part with him. Even the roadie was nice and threw all
the picks out to the audience after the show was over. There was just such a
great atmosphere.

Once again... it was an amazing experience that I have nothing to compare to.
My only real complaint is that they didn't play New York for two nights.

As everyone knows, Sunny Day rarely come to New York City. So, of course, I sensed it was gonna be a really long line. Which it was. Right before I give my ticket in, I saw William Goldsmith talk to some people about a guest list. It was pretty cool. I was going to say something but he looked like he was in a rush. I never heard of No Knife before. Once they came on, they blew me away. Their sound was really tight. During the intermission, it felt like evryone was gonna just start to push each other out of the way. It was packed to the max. Then once Sunny day hit the stage, the crowd went berserko. New York always goes nuts. Jeremy and the band looked amazed and suprised of the welcome they recieved. They opened up with a strong version of "Fool In The Photograph". Then went right into "One" followed by "The Ocean", which was stunning. "Every Shining Time You Arrive" was also a joy to hear. Their setlist I've noticed changes little by little each time-which is cool. One of my favorites of the song was "The Rising Tide"-which was one of the encores. They put so much force and energy into their songs, it's amazing. Dan Hoerner really meant it when he said "I've been looking forward for this show all tour". "8"-one of Sunny Day's popular live songs-put the crowd on their feet once again. Will's ferocious drumming brought it all together. The bass player and key boardist/guitarist also did a great job. Then once Dan said ,"We're going to bring something back...", they play these weird notes on the guitar, which I sensed was going to be "Seven", but they ripped right into "In Circles". The audience was uncontrollable by that point. I couldnt even move. This one girl got up on stage during the first chorus and sang on Dan's mike, which he happily gave to her. During the middle of the song, a kid jumped up stage too, this time right by Jeremy. He was soon told to get off the stage by backstage personnel, but the song of course wasn't ruined. I overheard one guy say as we were all heading toward the EXIT sign, "I spent four days at Woodstock and nobody was as good as them". He was right. It was a great show and experience. I wish joy to all of the other fans going to see them this summer. I wish the band toured more around the New York area, though. Thanks
