Pomona,

The Glass House was a great place for the show, plenty of room. The opening band was laughable, though you couldn't help but feel sorry for them, as they were trying pretty hard to be liked. (where does management FIND these bands?) Anyway, Sunny Day was incredible. They opened with Pheurton Skuerto, the LAST song I thought I'd ever hear live! The coolest part was when the full band came in to jam to the song. Jeremy had a smile on his face during part of the song, probably due to the crowd's surprise. The rest of the show was awesome, and the crowd was really great. Near the end of the set, Jeremy said "you guys alone have made this a great show." The crowd and band chatted back and forth a bit between songs, and the band seemed to be really enjoying themselves. I couldn't believe how much material from diary was played. I also must add that it looked like security waited to near the end of the show before hassling some people videotaping. Lame.
Now I must share my theory. Sunny Day has been rumored to open for Radiohead or some other mainstream band soon, and the band has clearly stated they want to promote the Rising Tide as much as possible. Well this tour was no TRT promotion, as most of the songs were older. I think this tour is more of a "for-the-fans" tour, with the next tour opening for a larger band playing songs off the new album to support it. We shall see.
The setlist:
Pheurton Skuerto (what
a surprise!)
One
Killed By An Angel
Song About an Angel (wonderful)
The Ocean
48
Snibe
The Blankets Were The Stairs
Faces in Disguise
100 Million
ESTYA
J'nuh ("named for a sound")
In Circles
ENCORE
The Prophet (incredible as ever, such a GREAT live song)
Seven(!)
The Rising Tide + Jam
Right before 'Seven', Dan said "this song was hard to learn" .Jeremy broke a string, but the older songs were played with as much emotion as the new songs, if not more. The band seems to only be getting better and better.

AMAZING
i saw sdre on the rising tide tour and that was awesome but tonight was
something special. i took a friend who was really into them but some how he
heard that they suck live...what is that about. so anyway he didn't want to
go but i told him that he must. so he went and that's that. he thought they
were amazing and so did i. it was so great to hear older songs and the set
list was perfect. the way it was set up kept the show rising and falling and
i don't even want to spoil the encore...it was sooooo good. i never wanted
them to stop and i think some guy in the audience said it best when people
were yelling out song requests and he just said "play any song"
it was
really good and if they are coming to your town do not hesitate to go out
and
buy your tickets because it was on of the best shows i have ever seen.
Jeremty's voice is unvbelieveable and he didn't miss a note. dan was having
a lot of fun which i thought was really cool and will rocks. GO SEE THIS
TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!
